Privacy Policy
Nergis Sadıklar ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile application Thermal Camera (the "App") for iPhone and iPad, distributed through the Apple App Store. This policy explains what the App does with data, what permissions it asks for and why, and what rights you have.
1. Camera, microphone and photo library
Camera. The App is a camera, so it needs camera access to show a live preview and to capture. Each frame is rendered through the selected effect on your device and then discarded. Frames are never recorded, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere.
Microphone. Used only to record audio while you are recording video. It is not used for photos and it is not used when you are not recording.
Photo library. Used to save the photos and videos you capture, and — for subscribers — to import a photo you choose so that an effect can be applied to it. The App reads only the item you pick. Imported and captured media stay on your device.
You can review or withdraw any of these permissions at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security on your device, or in the App's own row in iOS Settings. Withdrawing camera access stops the App from working.
2. Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics. We use Mixpanel to collect aggregated, non-identifying data about how the App is used — which screens are opened, which effects are selected, session length, and similar. It contains no images, no audio and no personal identifiers.
- Device information. Technical data such as device model, iOS version and language, used to diagnose problems and prioritise fixes.
- App-generated identifier. The App creates a random anonymous identifier stored on your device. It is used to keep track of your subscription entitlement through RevenueCat. It is not linked to your name, your email or your Apple Account.
- Install attribution. The App reads Apple's AdServices attribution token, which tells us in aggregate which advertising campaign an install came from. This is Apple's privacy-preserving mechanism; it does not identify you.
The App does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. Personal data
The App has no accounts and no sign-in, and we do not ask you for personal information to use any feature. The only way we receive personal data is if you email us for support, in which case we receive whatever you choose to write, and use it solely to answer you.
4. Purchases
Thermal Camera Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through the App Store. All payments are processed by Apple. We never see or store your payment details. Through RevenueCat we receive only a receipt token from Apple confirming whether a subscription is active.
5. Service providers
We do not sell your data. We share the limited data described above with the providers that make the App work:
- Mixpanel — product and usage analytics
- RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management
- Apple — distribution, payments and AdServices attribution, under Apple's own privacy policy
These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or transfer it as part of a merger or sale of the business.
6. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
Analytics and technical data are retained only as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. Support correspondence is kept until your issue is resolved. Camera frames are never retained at all.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including the EU, the UK and California — you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@appdepartment.co.
9. Deleting your data
Email support@appdepartment.co with the subject "Data Deletion Request – Thermal Camera" and tell us your device type and roughly when you first used the App. We will delete your analytics record (Mixpanel) and your subscription record (RevenueCat, except where we must retain it for legal or tax reasons) within 30 days and confirm by email.
Photos and videos you captured live only on your device — deleting the App, or deleting them from the App's gallery and your photo library, removes them for good. We have no copy.
10. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the App changes or as the law requires. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. Material changes will be announced in the App.
